What Matters

Exhibition of the Junge Akademie

Under the title “What Matters”, this year’s work presentation of the Jungen Akademie deals, among other things, with questions about the transformation of societies and their expression in the relationship between urban space and landscape, as well as the interrelation of the individual and social orders such as state, religion and economy. The communication media take up these diverse processes of change in design.

“What Matters” is both the question and the statement of the work presentation of the JUNGEN AKADEMIE, the international artist-in-residence program of the Akademie der Künste. 29 scholarship holders from all art sections of the Academy will present sound and video installations, photographs, sculptures, paintings and performances that they developed during their studio stays in the Hansaviertel in Berlin and at Villa Serpentara in Olevano, Italy. The communication media take up these diverse processes of change in the design.
