In cooperation with the Zentralarchiv, the Neue Nationalgalerie presented Max Ernst to Dorothea Tanning: Networks of Surrealism. Provenances from the Ulla and Heiner Pietzsch Collection. We designed the exhibition graphics for it.

One hundred years after the “First Surrealist Manifesto” (1924), this exhibition offers new insights into the far-reaching networks of this international 20th-century art movement. The focus is on both the stories behind the creation of the artworks and the life stories of the key artists, art dealers, and collectors of Surrealism.
We developed a graphic design concept for the exhibition that illustrates the networks using striking and easy-to-understand infographics. The focus was on the provenance chains of the individual works of art. A subtle color scheme allowed visitors to navigate the exhibition beyond the text.
